One of my great joys is watching Japan's national sport, Sumo. Over the past year, Sumo has helped keep me sane during the lock-downs by having something exciting to look forward to while still practicing safe covid-19 habits at home. I'll be the first to admit that I might be just a little obsessed with the sport, but it appears that I am not the only one who has taken notice of my love of sumo. I had the luck to be asked to be on an episode of Mono-ii, an international fan sumo podcast.
On March 14th, I recorded episode #7 of the Mono-ii podcast, alongside Chiara Motta, Laurel Kibble, and host Ash Warren, author of The Way of Salt. This is a special episode as it was the first all-female guest roster for the podcast.
2020 Wrap-Up and Awards Eligibility
January 7, 2021
During much of 2020 I felt as though I was in a holding pattern waiting to see if the 2020 Taos Toolbox would take place, and while in the end it was decided that the 2020 cohort would be postponed until sometime in 2021, I did have a spot of wonderful news to share with everyone. My first professional short story is finally out in the wild, which means that 2020 is my first year to be eligible for the Astounding Award for Best New Writer.
